Featured in the media: AI tool Suunta.ai aims for growth and international expansion

Matti Petteri, Kare Oja

Kauppalehti interviewed our Suunta.ai founders CEO Matti Petteri Pöntiö and CTO Kare Oja, who shared the story behind Y4 Works, the company developing Suunta.ai, and discussed its growth journey and Suunta.ai’s impact on modernizing strategic work.

Building a modern, AI-driven model for strategy work

Since 2019, Y4 Works has supported nearly 12,000 companies and 6,000 individuals in developing their business and skills. Based on this extensive consulting experience, the company developed Suunta, an AI-powered strategy solution that helps organizations plan, develop, and continuously improve their strategy more effectively. More than 600 organizations have already leveraged the platform, and the users say that strategy work has become significantly more customer-centric and cost-efficient. “We see that AI allows companies to grow their customer base and increase revenue more cost-effectively. While some strategic foundations are universal, organizations also have important local differences, and AI helps to balance those,” explains CTO Oja.

We are aiming for 3,000 paying customers and one million euros in licensing revenue in the coming year. Our international expansion is progressing in a systematic way: Suunta.ai is already in use in the City of Sherbrooke in Canada, and several pilot projects are underway across Europe as well. “Staying competitive in the AI race requires enormous effort and a clear vision of the direction we want to take,” Oja adds and continues: “We are striving to anticipate technological developments and build solutions that stand the test of time.” CEO Matti Petteri Pöntiö emphasizes the importance of long-term focus in utilizing AI:

“People often expect results from AI too quickly, but the most meaningful impact emerges over time, as the technology becomes a natural part of everyday work within the organization.”

It is great to see that the development of Suunta.ai and the expertise of Y4 Works are also gaining attention in the media. We will continue our determined work to integrate AI into strategic development — with the goal of helping more organizations define their future direction even more wisely.
